The next common weapon used was the RPG or the Rocket propelled grenade. The main use for this weapon was to clear out larger bases or villages at a safe distance. The weapon would rest o ]n your shoulder to stabilize and had a trigger to fire the rocket like a regular gun. The pros for this weapon were how easily they took out enemies and vehicles. Also the RPG was very low cost and simple use and how widely produced it is made it easy to obtain and learn how to use. The cons for this weapon are how unbalanced it is and it was of course very explosive.
The last common weapon used is the G3. The G3 is another another automatic rifle like the AK-47. The G3 was also created in the World War in 1950. The G3 is a heavy weapon with even heavier ammo and heavier than the AK-47. Even though this weapon suffers from its weight, it is incredibly accurate and built very well. Unlike other rifles, the G3 is very compact and easier to handle than the AK-47 which is why they are so commonly used. Each of these weapons are effective in there own way and are still being used in wars like the Sierra Leone Civil War.

I think what stood out to me the most about your topic is the fact that the RPG is easily obtainable and cheap. To me, if you were to ask me if I thought an RPG was expensive or not, I'd say it was. Also, I thought that they weren't easy to operate, but apparently it is. Interesting stuff.
ReplyDeleteI think it’s interesting that the G3 was the heaviest, looking at the picture I would not have guessed that.
