The shear amount of understanding and knowledge these kids showed was insane. They are being taught so many important life skills and getting a real sense of community from this class. The teacher even stated "These kids come back and tell me this class is what got them into Harvard or Princeton". The most inspiring part of it all is that the kids are all willing to put in tons of extra effort of their own accord. That really shows how much of an impact this class has has on them and how extraordinary of a teacher Rafe was. In 5th grade these kids are showing more effort and putting in more work than I would have until the ladder half of my high school career.
My goal for the next year is to discover something specific to aim for in terms of what to do after I get my degree in computer science and engineering. I also want to start working on networking to make getting a job easier.
Ya amount of energy and self motivation these kids have it is insane. If I had same energy and self motivation I would have accomplished lots of things.
