Groundbreakers Liv Reggi
The one that I found most interesting and that stood out to me the most is the Reverend talking to his colleague. I think this one stood out to me the most because something bad happened and no one else would do this kids funeral but then this pastor stepped up and did it even though he knew it wasn't right to go against another pastor. The kid had died of AIDS and he just happened to be gay and when the other pastor found that out he said the funeral couldn't happen in his church. So they called Pastor Eric D. Williams at first he didn't want to do the funeral either and then he got to thinking about the family and he decided he was going to do the funeral. He talks about losing a lot of things doing this job. Reverend Eric D. Williams says " I've lost people I thought were friends doing this work. But no one should have to bur their kid; you're not supposed to have to do that. Doing that funeral for that family was the event that rearranged my whole life." (Isay 239). I think that just show how much he actually cares about the families that hes willing to lose friends just to help out the families.

I also did this profile and it is very inspiring to do what not everyone else will do. I really like the quote you used and you worded it very well.
ReplyDeleteThis profile also touched my heart. He was willing to take a chance on the boy and willing to sacrifice his friends and job for doing something nice for the family.
ReplyDeleteI loved how he didn't care what the other people were saying and he did what he wanted too.
